Miku VFX
Background visuals for Miku LIVE!, a student-run Hatsune Miku concert at the University of Houston. Made in Godot, projected on the theatre screen at three shows since 2024.
A helical strip mesh, striped like a barberpole, with a particle wave that climbs the frame to cover a Miku costume swap.
Six orbs trailing lens flares, accelerating toward the camera on an inverse square law, each dragging about a thousand dust particles. A color bank picks the colors, Miku’s first, the rest at random.
Polygons folding through each other.
Every effect is a small program. Particles, distance fields, a metaball goo that took a month. Real time in Godot, rendered out for a Premiere edit so it plays clean on the big screen.
